Gordon, Is there perhaps a national role for Couchiching?
Yes, it was considered and acted upon. There was a Saskatchewan Institute of Public Affairs that attempted to do the same thing on Provincial Issues and that worked very successfully, but there wasn't the staying power organization behind it. We co-operated with Mount Allison University in setting up a Couchiching on Maritime Unity, which was very successful. I think the possibility of rolling out through the land is still there. It has to happen through the activities of determined voluntary persons who have been the backbone of Couchiching through 60 years. It is a tough uphill fight, but if anyone wanted to take on a mission I'm absolutely persuaded that this would be one of the forms of salvation that Michael is looking for.
